• The candidate must be experienced in the supervision of template cutting, foam making, stitching and fixing upholstery with experience in leather, vinyl and fabric. 
• He must demonstrate prior experience of handling a team of 30 plus workers in the Upholstery Department.
• It is very important that the candidate must himself know the technical aspects of Upholstery (Tailoring, Cutting, Stitching, Fixing etc.) and be able to carry out work with his own hands to demonstrate to workers.

Job Description:

1. Work in accordance with the production schedule issued by the Production Manager.

2. Ensure the production area is properly organized.

3. Pre-plan the job, i.e. all materials and parts must be on the work area prior to the start of the shift.

4. Make sure all equipment and tools are ready for use and to request additional tools if/when required. 

5. Set quality standards for the designated production area.

6. Immediately report any machine breakdowns to the Maintenance Department and the Production Manager.

7. Control all production labor on a day-to-day basis and request additional manpower to meet production schedule 
if delays are foreseeable.

8. Improve, maintain and monitor the efficiency of the workers.

9. Ensure a safe working environment and enforce safe work practices, reporting any violators, all work accidents and make certain that preventative measures are taken.

10. Maintain effective communication with workers to address problems.

11. Suggest cost-saving initiatives to superiors.
